WHAT TO DO WHEN MY AIRCONDITIONING UNIT HAS AN ERROR CODE

 

When your airconditioning unit has an error code, this is a symptom that something is wrong. Resetting the unit may clear the code but this will only be temporary and could cause further damage to your unit. It is best to call your airconditioning professional while the error code is present, as this shortens the repair time. If the technician needs to look for the problem once the code has been cleared, this results in longer (more costly) repair time. Often an error code covers a broad range of issues under a main category. Therefore it is recommended that you contact your airconditioning professional for assistance in getting your airconditioning unit back into optimal working order.

The same can be said of commercial airconditioning units, as most ranges of error codes carry through from domestic ranges to the commercial ranges. However, commercial units run on 3-Phase power and therefore have additional error codes relating to power supply and safety issues. Most commercial units have built-in safeties to protect your unit against power failures, fluctuations and voltage drops. Often resetting of the unit is required to clear the error code but it is of utmost importance that your airconditioning professional thoroughly checks the airconditioning unit for any other problems and to establish whether any other damages have occurred to the unit.
