IT’S RAINING, IT’S POURING… BUT HOW WILL THE RAIN AFFECT MY AIRCON UNIT?

The outdoor portion of your aircon is designed to operate in all types of weather, therefore it is safe to use during wet weather. However, if you have an inverter aircon, you may want to switch it off during a lightning storm as the power surges and strikes may result in expensive repairs / replacements.

We are all complaining about the high humidity with all this lovely rain, and therefore struggling to get our laundry dry – use the ‘DRY’ mode on your aircon to de-humidify the air, and assist with this problem.

When using your aircon in dry mode, the fan and certain other components of the unit will be running but it will not blow out any cold or hot air. The aircon then draws the air from the room, and removes the moisture by condensing it inside the evaporator (the water droplets will be discharged via the drain pan). Drier air is then returned into the room.
