THE UP’S AND DOWN’S OF THE NEW AIR-CONDITIONING TECHNOLOGY

As technology changes on a daily basis we are ever improving air-conditioning to improve our way of living.

The new inverter technology is a big upgrade from the old standard R22 air-conditioning units. The new inverter allows us to have more control over controlling the temperatures and a better control of the power use of the air-conditioner. If we were to put a new and old unit next to one another you would not see any difference at first glance. But when you open the unit up that’s when we see all the changes been made. With the old air-conditioning technology a lot of the parts and components were interchangeable between different units (Daikin, LG, Samsung etc….) as all these units work on the same standard and principal, as more of the components work off gas pressures and a lot more mechanical switches meaning that temperature can’t be controlled down to the °C.

With inverter technology there is a lot more controlling and sensing going on inside the unit, things still work according to gas pressures, but gets read as an “electrical reading” (ohms) resulting in the unit having more control boards and electrical components. Thus making the unit more susceptible to damage (electrical damage from power fluctuations) and depending on the make and type could cost an arm or a leg. As inverter technology is making it onto the market more and more the end user product is ever improving making inverter the way to go for our environment and to keep you comfortable.
